Parvo: Recommended dog vaccination

Parvo: severe and highly contagious disease caused by virus

Transmission –most severe in young puppies, affected dogs of all ages
Transmitted by contact with infected faeces and body fluids

Symptoms
Virus persists in the environment for a long time (more than 18 months)
Causes vomiting, bloody diarrhea, dehydration, severe abdominal pain and depressions

Adult dogs and puppies can die within 24 hours of getting the disease

Prevention – vaccinate your pet against PARVO

  1. As soon as you espouse a pup you must visit your veterinary doctor to know the date of the first vaccination and the subsequent booster
  2. In the first year your pup may necessitate more than one shot of vaccine
  3. In the subsequent years only one shit is needed
